Tongue Lab develops and markets the Tongue Right Positioner (TRP). The first medical device for sensory-motor stimulation of the tongue, it aims at a natural improvement of its position, its functions, and its muscular tone. The simplicity of the device makes it easy to adapt.
Through this partnership with the Moroccan company Oxyplus, Tongue Lab makes its first step on the African continent and its vast and fast-growing market, especially for Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Morocco, due to its historical link with France is probably the best entry point to that continent. 2 million Moroccans suffer from TRS, of which ¼ are aware of it, and less than 5% are treated, despite the increasing objectives of care and diagnosis by the Moroccan health insurance. Oxyplus is a leading company in the Moroccan market for sleep medicine supplies and services. Experienced with innovation, Oxyplus already uses technologies that allow it to optimize multi-practitioner care. And also monitoring of patients with chronic diseases such as obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSA). Sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) is a complex condition. Numerous statistics and scientific publications show that conventional solutions do not meet the needs of patients who are ” customers ” of care. The number of patients treated is very low and, the high drop-out rate is proof of it. In this context, Oxyplus is looking for alternative solutions to propose to its network. Tests have been performed for over a year with TRP on Moroccan patients in Casablanca. “The results of these tests and the good compliance have convinced us of the interest of the TRP solution. We saw in this device a great opportunity that could be essential for Moroccan patients with OSA,” says Khalid Bouhlal. “We are delighted with the interest and results obtained with the TRP by the first Moroccan practitioners. We are excited by the motivation of this new partner to introduce our device in their country” explains Jean-Michel Mauclaire. Early October 2021 will see the organization of the first Webinar for the launch of the TRP in Morocco with imminent local and international specialists.
